Jesse and Mel joined their teen kids Brent and Daria who were preparing to leave for the airport to visit extended family in California during summer break. Before heading out the door the siblings still couldn't shake the feeling of their parents choosing not to go along with them.

“So Mom, Dad. You two are going to be okay here by yourselves in the mansion?” Brent said as he finished fastening his suitcase.

“Of course, Brent. Your mother and I haven't been able to sit down and relax in the house since… we were your age, probably younger.” Jesse said.

Mel nodded. “We wouldn't mind joining you in California but this year's been particularly stressful at both our jobs if you haven't noticed.”

“Point taken. The peace and quiet is a good reason to go nowhere.” Daria said while combing her black hair.

The kids knew that Jesse’s and Mel’s jobs at the law firm and the health department respectively were facing separate brands of problems from laying off workers or some… administrative issues they rather not explain further for into for necessary reasons and as well as outside forces too, but it was more than enough for the teens to understand their plight. During most of the year, they were careful to not bother them when they were in no mood for fun or other things. But things soon calmed once summer was on the horizon and Jesse and Mel wasted no time to get that well-deserved vacation time. Paid.

Once the kids' cab pulled up they said their farewells and left. Jesse and Melody now had the whole estate to themselves for the entirety of July and half of August. The couple then began getting ready for their plans, firstly with Melody returning to her own home to grab a few things for the long stay with her unwedded partner. Both parents had Jesse’s full-time housekeeper and cook Mrs. June Barragan, a middle-aged Hispanic lady already prepared for her summer duties like any normal day of the week.

Later that afternoon, Jesse and Mel joined at the table in the kitchen for a glass of wine with cheese and fresh white grapes. As Mrs. Barragan served the snack, she asked, “Mr. Henson, Ms. Corbin, what would you like for dinner this evening?”

“I wouldn't worry about cooking a thing, June. Mel and I are considering going out tonight. Just to be alone for our first night together.”

Later that evening, both Mel and Jesse drove through the city as people were getting ready for the 4th or just enjoying outings in the warm summer night.

“Where do you wanna eat?” Jesse asked.

“Let's just go to Lane’s. I heard they are putting new things on the menu and they hired a brand new secondary cook. They're making a killing in the place.”

The long-haired blond man smiled. “Ooh, now I'm curious.”

The couple entered the somewhat crowded restaurant, a few people waiting in line before them. Once they were brought to their seats, a waitress came by with menus. “Good evening, I’m Lori and I'll be your waitress tonight. Would you like to have bread and butter while you wait and decide to order.”

A bread basket with four long baguettes was brought to their table along with a small plate of butter. Jesse took a bite of the warm, flaky bread, chewing it more thoroughly than usual and was surprised to find it more to be more flavorful than previous times they been to the restaurant. He took another off another part of the bread, this time a huge piece and slathered it with more butter.

“Wow, you're liking the bread aren't you Jess?” Mel looked at her phone.

“What can I say, the bread actually tastes good, I almost can't stop eating! Even the butter is delicious. I wonder who Max hired as his assistant cook.”

Mel grabbed a half loaf and she took a bite and was impressed with the quality. Without a second thought, she ate the whole thing in less than a minute. “My goodness, that was some good bread.”The couple continued eating the yummy bread while just dipping the pieces into the butter sticks without even using a knife! It certainly stirred up their appetites. The waitress Lori returned five minutes later and the couple was ready to order. Surprisingly enough, more food was ordered than intended. Mel had spaghetti & meatballs and fried chicken and mashed potatoes with gravy. Jesse ordered country fried steak, green beans and corn, and another dish of chicken pot pie and home fries. First bites out of their dinner were the greatest they ever had. They ate their food in an odd manner between eating with proper table manners and less than proper etiquette, indicating the almost godlike quality of the food. When dessert came around…  they ordered three pies, four slices of different kinds of cheesecakes, and chocolate pudding.

Mel released her third burp while glancing at the huge pile of plates before her. Her belly stuck out of her top shamelessly, without making any effort to remember she was in a public place. The dark-haired lady said breathlessly, “That was the best dinner ever. The new food was fantastic. I mean, this place is good but this right here… is phenomenal. Whoever Max hired, they deserve a medal.”

Jesse had his head down as if he was taking a nap on the spot, released another burp before speaking. “Have no words… to describe this… Ooh, too full. Can't talk.” He rubbed his bulging belly that proved too much for his belt and shirt.

“Mel, darling.”

“Yes?

“How about we keep continuing this?”

Mel raised an eyebrow and said, “Are you sure about that?”

“Yes. I am. We have plenty of money to spend, not to mention our vacation pay. And don’t worry, I took care of the bills this month.”

“Really? Okay…. I better get on with my own bills before I go mad with overspending then.”

From that point forward Jesse and Mel knew exactly what their agenda was for their summer vacation.

*****

Daria laid on a floater in the middle of her grandmother’s backyard pool while enjoying a mango smoothie and talking with a few cousins. Brent was talking with other family members near the pool chairs. The kids were enjoying the last few days of their staying with Grandma Corbin before returning to Indiana. Then a maid and their grandmother came walking out with a slightly frantic look on her face. Their grandmother called out, “Brent… Daria… please come in.”

The teens looked up and followed the old woman inside the house.

“Grandma, what’s going on?”

“I… I really don’t know how to put this. Your housekeeper June…? She’s on the phone….”

“Yeah? What’s going on, is she okay? What about Mom and Dad?” Daria said.

The maid handed over the house phone to Brent, “Hello? June?” A short second of silence went by before Mrs. Barragan answered. And she didn't sounded happy.

“Brent. You and Daria need to come home soon as you can.”

“Whoa, what?”

“Huh? June, what’s going on?” Daria called out.

“JUST. COME. HOME. I’m on the brink of quitting and I swear on my grandmother's grave that I'd hate to break my streak of working at your home for seventeen years!”

Brent and Daria were completely shocked. This was totally unlike June for her to say that she wanted to quit after showing no plans to leave and providing such grade-A domestic service for almost twenty years. The boy spoke slowly, “Where’s Mom and Dad?”

“Oh, they are in the house. And they have hardly been outside the place lately.”

The teen twisted his lips and said, “Alright, why? It doesn’t sound so bad.”

“To you, no. But to me, it’s a… emotionally strange rollercoaster. Never did I want the house owners to leave the house so I could do my own business--in peace.”

“Okay, okay, June. We’ll leave tomorrow morning.”

Another silence between them.

“Look, I am sorry to the both of you that I’m making you come home earlier than intended, but your parents have really been at it. I know this may sound weird… but have they ever stayed in contact with you since last month?”

The kids pondered. Admittedly, they only kept in touch for around the first week and a half before they stopped responding back to each other. It seemed that both parents and kids were wrapped up in their summer vacation merriment, they forgot getting on Skype. Brent and Daria felt uneased and became worried about what their parents were doing.

The children stepped out of the cab with their belongings and ran towards the door and just barged in after letting themselves in with their house key.

“Mom? Dad?” Daria called out.

No answer.

“We’re home!” Brent called out.

“Mom, Dad!” Daria shouted, but still no answer. She looked at her brother. “I don’t like this.”

“Mrs. Barragan?” Brent called out.

There was no answer from June. They walked near the in-table near the door and found a small with June’s handwriting on it. It read:

Dearest Daria and Brent,

By the time you read this, I’m taking my own vacation for a little while if you all don’t mind. I’m pretty sure Mr. Henson and Ms. Corbin already got the gist of the situation and will understand. I have a friend who will serve as my replacement until I return in September. She will come by in the next two days.

Thank you,

June.

PS. You should be already smelling the grease and lingering fried food odor when you step in. Believe me, it's overwhelming.

And after reading the note, the aforememtioned lingering smell hit their noses.

“We better go find Mom and Dad,” Brent said.

“Right.”

The kids first went into their parents’ room and it appeared strangely untouched. The bed was made, the closets were closed and the curtains were shut. Then they looked into the courtyard room near the backyard. They weren't there either. They looked into the vacant guest rooms, closing and opening door after door, including the bathroom. Until they heard something. A massive belch emitting from the game room. Brent and Daria felt the blood in their faces drain as they stood still three feet from the door.

“What's going…?” the girl whispered quietly.

“Let's not ask. We go in first, then we'll ask.”

“Okay, after you."

Brent approached the door and hesitated a bit before placing his hand on the knob and turning it. While the door cracked opened, a huge smell of old food hit his nose. Then he heard a voice.

“Kids? You home?”

Brent answered, “Yes? June… called us and we decided to come home… earlier… and…”

The boy and his sister stepped into the room and their eyes popped out of their sockets. They found not only a Netflix movie on the TV, but their attention was diverted to the two morbidly obese blobs that used to be their parents as they were relaxing on the couch wearing comfortable sweats with piles of used plates, pizza boxes reaching Brent’s height of 5’10, and used Chinese takeout and noodle containers. The three corners had recycling bins and were filled with empty soda cans and foil gyro wraps. Fortunately, the room was clean. The discarded food packages were neatly stacked before needing to be put in a trash bag. There were no food stains on the carpet or the walls. The window was open for necessary ventilation.

As Jesse and Mel, they seemed clean as ever despite being over six hundred pounds of rolls and blubber. Their father had something of a huge, double-rolled belly that laid on his lap. His butt was placed on the sofa with it being partially shown from his underwear and pants, showing the deep cavern of his rear. The kids were shocked his breasts grew big enough to jiggle like a beautiful busty woman walking down the street. They couldn't help but blush at the thought and the sheer embarrassment was almost too much. Daria found it ungodly difficult to rip her eyes away from her father’s chest without comparing them to Mom's…. In contrast, Mel had a more modest chest for a large woman, as the majority of the weight was compiled in her legs and butt. Her bottom was especially huge as her pants pretty much just quit at the six-inch mark. And despite all that, the parents were neat and tidy and seemed to be well-dressed with plenty of sweat-clothing.

Jesse grabbed a bag of potato chips near him and dumped the contents into his mouth as the salt and crumbs dumped all over his top and soft chest. “I know what you kids are thinking… we had a staycation like we said. I know you weren't expecting… this.” He said this before letting out a burp.

Daria and Brent looked at each other while still trying to wrap their heads around this odd situation. Picking his words carefully, Brent said, “Well, yeah. We didn't know what to think you two were doing that set off Mrs. Barragan to leave for a month. We saw the note she left for us.”

“Yes, yes. We both figured she would leave. There's still plenty of summertime left. She needs a break too.” Jesse said.

There was no secret for that.

Daria said, “Okay, June said that another housekeeper is coming as her replacement until she comes back.”

“Oh, good. That's fine.” Mel said with a hint of absentmindness.

Daria said quietly, “So… you two have been hanging out in the game room all this time?”

Mel nodded, “Mostly. Where do you think all this trash came from before we got too... comfortable? For the first few weeks, Jesse and I went out to Lane's and other restaurants. Then… we got lazy and began ordering takeout--the trash. Finally, we had June… working heavier loads than we intended her to do.”

“So we decided to settle in here. Where there's a television.” Jesse said.

“Have you done anything else?” Brent asked.

“Are you serious right now? It's a summer staycation after all.” Mel laughed as she slurped down half a soda can.

“Oh… It looked like June just didn't saw the point of sticking around and left.” Daria said, careful not spitting out the irony. Can't imagine why….

Jesse laughed, “Haha, it's more than that, dear.”

Overworked housekeeper confirmed.

The kids realized what’s been happening while they were gone and judging by the… severity of it all and having the empty food packages and plates to prove it, June simply cracked and left. And something whispered to them if she really meant by coming back in September… no, they didn't even want to think of her ditching them permanently. She had every reason to be upset when she called them.

Mel slowly got up from her spot, and the kids were introduced to her butt being barely contained by her underwear. She waddled towards them who tried their hardest to hide looks of awkwardness and embarrassing discomfort. She approached the kids and wrapped her bingo-wing arms around them into a group huddle where they felt the many rolls on her side.

“Kids, we're going out tonight.”

“Uhh…?” "We are?"

Jesse got up and said, “Yes. Our stomachs are not going to feed themselves. We're planning on heading to the fast food chains, then maybe some family-owned places.” He joined in on the family huddle, bringing his daughter to his flabby chest, as she wasn't expecting that! Oh god, I'm glad men don't lactate…. I wouldn't know the difference if Mom and Dad were always been like this.

“Oh, and children, I almost forgot to tell you… be sure to eat something before we go out tonight.” Mel said.

“Yes, ma'am.” The kids said as their parents waddled out into the hallway.

Speaking quietly, Daria said, “Something is telling me that this family dinner is going to be very one-sided.”

Brent sighed heavily as he nodded in agreement.

Something among the recent slew of contemporary short stories I written in my backlog already. (Although despite the name, I written this around spring break and a bit before!) I'm proud to announce that this is was my first time experimenting DILF and MILF characters, both at the same time, and... my opinion is validated that mature characters definitely need more love in weight gain literature.

Enjoy.

You know, gluttonous parents aren't done as often as they should be. They should be explored more. Great work on this!
